Our research program at the intersection of art and science aspires to take interdisciplinary scholarship into new areas. We are interested in exploring the humanities and artistic practice to discover opportunities for promoting creativity in the sciences. Central to this pursuit are strategies to create scientific questions, explore the role of emotion in science, and assess the importance of diversity to persistence and resilience through a variety of activities, collaborations and projects described below as well as through our teaching program. We have created The Soil Factory as an experimental place and The Question Factory as an experimental concept in recognition of the importance of collaborative platforms at the interface of art and science.
